City of Opa-locka | 2026

Bringing a forgotten city tradition back to life for Opa-locka’s 100th anniversary.

— the challenge

A silent tradition and a milestone the city couldn't afford to miss.

For decades, the music had been quiet in Opa-locka. The Arabian Nights Music Fest—once the beating heart of the community’s pride—had slipped into history, leaving behind memories instead of an active tradition. As the city approached its 100-Year Centennial, leadership wanted more than just a typical festival. They needed a moment that would bring families back together, honor the city’s Moorish Revival roots, and show the region what Opa-locka truly stands for.

The problem? The city was starting from scratch. There was no central way to reach residents, no modern ticket system, and no clear path to guarantee that people across South Florida would hear the call and show up.

To make this historic milestone a success, The Mosaic Group was brought on to deliver an end-to-end strategy—spanning brand revitalization, multi-channel marketing, vendor monetization, media relations, and on-site event production.

— the solution

Listening to the community, building trust, and creating an experience people would remember.

01. Finding the Audience

Before writing a single headline, we mapped where the community’s heart was beating online. By tracking where interest was coming from, we made sure our story reached the exact people waiting to come home.

02. Telling the Story

We launched a 90-day campaign powered by real stories, local history, and video content that captured the spirit of the celebration. We brought regional voices like WLRN and The Miami Times into the conversation, turning a local gathering into a celebrated news event across South Florida.

03. Building the Experience

At Sherbondy Park, we didn’t just set up tents; we crafted spaces that felt like home. From the music-filled Rhythm Realm to the vibrant Spice Court, every corner honored the city’s history while hosting mainstage performances by LeToya Luckett and Ball Greezy.

04. Supporting Local Hands

We built a simple vendor system that invited neighborhood cooks, artisans, and small business owners to set up shop. Their participation covered the entire digital operational cost of the event, ensuring every dollar spent stayed focused on the community.
